Assist in the coordination of all technical activities of the program office in alignment with sponsor desires and sound engineering practices. Responsibilitiesinclude assisting the Technical Director with program-level/cross-project technical guidance, interaction and program representation with numerous senior Joint Service personnel (GS-15/0-6 and above) and technical exchange forums; assessment of technical risk and mitigation alternatives; tailoring of engineering standards and controls for appropriate technical oversight of advanced technology efforts projecting and defining specific tasking for the Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Center ARC) efforts; projecting long-range (15+ year) capability gaps and technical roadmaps; interaction with various Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) organizations, and notification of S&T initiatives which are candidates to address capability gaps; related Program Objective Memorandum (POM)/budget request support; creation and tracking of project technical transition criteria; modeling, simulation and analysis support; and other technical support duties as may
arise from either the Program Manager or Technical Director.
Occasional (~10%) travel is required for this position.
Required Experience and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field from an accredited college university. Experience cannot be substituted for education.
Experience: Candidate must have 10 or more years of experience with the DoD S&T and/or research development (R&D) procurement.
Candidate must be a subject matter expert with an in-depth working knowledge of Systems engineering, modeling, simulation, analysis, demonstration and test. FFRDC/UARC interaction, Joint vice interaction/leveraging of Joint Service efforts, S&T insertion processes, and POM/budget request technical justifications.
Candidate must have experience with, and possess a thorough understanding of the aviation kill in (sensor, shooter, weapons) and its optimization. Further, experience is needed in coordination of technical efforts across multiple programs and organizational boundaries.
Desired Experience and Skills:
Candidate should be proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Candidate should have demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
Candidate should have experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained and complex security environment.
Must have a current TS/SCI clearance
