Overview

Zenetex specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. The contractor shall conduct network administration, configuration and management of the Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, administer, troubleshoot, and configure Windows Operating system and Server 2008 to sustain operational network services and maintain Information Assurance (IA) compliance to include: User Profiles, File Management, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), MS Office Suite, MS Outlook Exchange, VMware Client, Print Servers, Group Policy, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Security and Audit Policy, and Archiving.
  • Install, administer, troubleshoot, and configure Cisco network devices to sustain operational network services and maintain IA compliance to include: Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) management, Etherchannel, Routing Tables, Access Control Lists, Security and Audit Policy, and Archiving.
  • Test and analyze all elements of the WAN/LAN including: software, network hardware, communication devices, fiber lines and Cat5e cabling, and user terminals.
  • Troubleshoot commercial off the shelf ADP equipment to the lowest sub-assembly/module level identified in the OEM manual and submit a repair action report with recommendation regarding the repair or replacement with the next higher level assembly/module.
  • Provide Network IP configuration information guidance for establishing encryption device network connectivity IAW with Network Security Directives to sustain operational network services and maintain IA compliance.
  • Monitor and review performance reports and audit logs to improve and sustain network operational performance, capability, and maintain IA compliance; identify performance issues and take corrective actions; identify, track, and report logged security events and IA compliance violations, and take approved actions to sustain network operations and maintain network integrity.
  • Review government network configuration and improvement technical proposals, document recommendations, and submit a proposal technical review report. Six months before published scheduled upgrades of the LAN/WAN systems, normally occurring every 3-5 years, the contractor shall review current technologies and LAN/WAN requirements and design, and recommend replacement infrastructures, such as virtualization, based on Windows Server application software and Cisco hardware systems.
  • Implement approved configuration change plans.
  • Review government planned network requirement changes, identify impacts, and recommend interface plans or configuration change plans. Prior to scheduled software upgrades or when new user software requirements are defined, the contractor shall review multi-user software and submit a recommendation to meet government established common-user requirements. For approved changes, the contractor shall prepare network change implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including course of actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths. The contractor shall implement approved network configuration changes, test and troubleshoot networks and/or systems and document topology changes. See: TE 4, ADP Workload for frequency.
  • For major system upgrades and scheduled life-cycle replacement events which involve the removal/installation of more than 20 items, equipment racks/enclosures, electrical service, and infrastructure data cabling; the Government will support and provide the removal/installation effort, while the Contractor is responsible for operational configuration.
  • Receive and record trouble calls in Outlook; analyze issues, resolve remotely, or dispatch personnel to resolve; sustaining network services availability and user access. The contractor shall document trouble call activity and submit a report.
  • Backup and Restore, Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). The contractor shall implement COOP and disaster recovery, configure automated file/system incremental back-ups on assigned networks, perform full system back-ups, and archive the backups, in accordance with the Information Management Plan and report status and discrepancies.
  • Collect necessary data about changes, impacts, implementation plans, slated for training facilities. To accomplish the tasks below the Contractor must understand the goals and objectives set forth in configuration planning meetings, record, and analyze those requirements in order to:
  • Evaluate configuration changes and installation schedules; identify issues, impacts, and potential schedule conflicts; and develop implementation plan recommendations to include course of actions, milestones, timelines, and critical paths.
  • Develop and brief approved implementation plans incorporating current status of network configurations, and compliance with configuration requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Education Requirements: None
  • Recent experience configuring and administering VMware client network services including network load balancing and managing direct access Virtual Private Network (VPN) modules
  • Recent experience preparing and implementing network configuration management plans
  • Recent experience documenting network / system topologies
  • Recent experience configuring and troubleshooting network service support for military C5I systems or similar commercial systems
  • Recent experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and managing Cisco device operation and network security
  • IA compliance in a computer system or network:
    • WAN Routing Protocols and Tables
    • Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), System Log (syslog) and NetFlow
    • Cisco device configurations, IOS images, and licenses
    • Access Control Lists (ACLs) and port security
  • Recent experience installing, configuring and testing Local Area Network (LAN) networks, for events such as military exercises, training, or operations or similar temporary network solutions supporting multiple systems and applications
  • Recent experience configuring and managing with a Cisco virtual client and server architecture
    • Recent experience configuring Cisco Call Manager
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 or higher
    • Recent in-depth WAN/LAN Windows Server experience installing, administering, troubleshooting, and configuring: Domain Name System, Active Directory, Network Infrastructure, and advanced network services
  • Windows 7 or higher
    • Recent Windows 7 experience installing and configuring: Disk Partitioning, File Access, Firewalls, Security, and Printers
  • Exchange Server 2010-Configuring or higher
    • Recent in-depth Exchange Server experience installing, administering, troubleshooting, and configuring: Infrastructure, Exchange Roles, Databases, Address Lists, Recipients and Public Folders, Client Access, Availability and Recovery, and Message Compliance and Security

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) Server 2008 or higher OR Configuring Windows 7 or higher (MCSE –Expert) or (MCSD –Developer)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching or higher (CCNP, CCIE)
  • CompTIA Security Plus or equivalent

  • This position will require the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; active clearance is highly desired.
