Overview

ZENETEX is seeking a Weapons Test Engineer to provide Technical support as JSF Joint Operational Test Team (JOTT) Air-to-Air (A/A) or Air-to Surface (A/S) Weapons Systems test engineer to JOTT Test Directors (TDs) and Effectiveness Leads in support of JSF Weapon evaluation phases during test. This engineer will provide inputs for the review process for TEMPs, Test Plans, and Test Reports for JSF JOTT Weapons testing prior to Effectiveness Leads and JOTT OTC reviews during phases of test. The candidate will serve as the weapons Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of developing sufficient blue forces weapon models for VSIM and report to JOTT Test Directors (TDs) and Technical Advisors (TAs) during phases of test. Candidate will work with JSF Joint Program Office (JPO) and JSF Contractor in development of required models during phase of test. This position will be located in Edwards Airforce Base, CA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in all weapons testing during the DT test phase to evaluate the JSF weapons systems readiness for OT
  • Participate as a member of the Integrated Test Team in evaluating the JSF Weapons systems during Developmental Testing (DT)
  • Generate Quad charts with any weapons systems deficiencies for the Integrated Test IPT Lead for briefings to JOTT leadership
  • Personnel determine adequacy of test resources, and the validity of the approach to the design and execution of operational test programs
  • Provide advice and guidance on the selection and accreditation process for models and simulations used to evaluate system effectiveness
  • Provide analytical advice, engineering and technical expertise on the design of operational test, written analytical reports, test plans, and other documentation associated with operational test conduct
  • Reviews mission based test designs and associated frameworks, proposed measures of effectiveness, applicability to the overall test program, and the adequacy to effectively evaluate system performance
  • Review and provide comments for test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs), test plans, evaluation reports and other documentation associated with operational testing
  • Evaluate documentation for technical validity, sound principles, and repeatability, testability, and compliance with current policies and guidance from DOD, Navy, and COMPOPTEVFOR
  • Researches current and projected engineering, scientific, and analytical methods that can be used in various phases of operational test including early operational assessments (EOAs), Initial OT&E, and follow-on test and evaluation (FOT&E)
  • Provide technical rigor and comprehensive operational testing methods using available resources
  • Devise new concepts, theories, and techniques in support of the design, conduct, and evaluation of techniques
  • Oversee validation, verification, and accreditation, of all modeling and simulation capabilities used in operational testing
  • Review all test and evaluation master plans, operational test plans, evaluation reports, and other appropriate documentation for technical validity and sound engineering and analytical principles
  • Manage the F35A/B/C mission systems and operational test requirements
  • Design test events and develop effectiveness metrics for test plans
  • Identify requirements for data analysis tools and create and maintain data analysis tools
  • Draft aircrew surveys
  • Collect, analyze, document and present effectiveness data and test results for inclusion in operational test reports

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in test, analysis or design of RMA performance of aircraft, missiles or weapon systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, or similar
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Desired Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of DoD test and evaluation requirements, methodologies and policies
  • Experience supporting test and evaluation of aircraft, missiles or weapon systems
  • Experience supporting or executing OT&E
  • Experience in developing test plans
  • Experience in logistics support, maintenance or configuration management of aircraft, missiles and or weapon systems
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing RMA data

Security Clearance

  • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
