Overview

Delex Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ZENETEX, is seeking a Security Support Assistant (SSA) for a position at a Government Security Office located at our Washington Navy Yard location.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Review and process PAR's and Coordinate Visit Requests
  • Provide assistance with visitor control program and meetings/conferences
  • Provide assistance in support of PMO security reviews and inspections at remote facilities.
  • Assist with inquiries required for incidents and violations
  • Conduct security briefings and debriefings
  • Provide assistance in support of PMO security reviews and inspections at remote facilities.
  • Review, research and draft SOPs, SSPs, OPSEC, SCGs, and SETAs.
  • Able to work independently and participate as a member of a team
  • Ensure adherence to facility reproduction and destruction procedures.
  • Process incoming and outgoing documents utilizing the security management program iSMS.
  • Prepare documents for transmittal via fax and other secure program communications.
  • Ensure markings on documents are accurate and reflect requirements set forth in current marking policies.
  • Maintain various facility logs to include fax, property pass, media control, and maintenance logs.
  • Maintain document control receipts in adherence to requirements as set forth in local and national requirements.
  • Conduct inventories of controlled materials in adherence to national security requirements.
  • Prepare documents and material for destruction.
  • Conduct and document classified material destruction in accordance with facility and national security requirements.
  • Perform escort duties as required.
  • Conduct courier duties as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant DOD regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting facility self-inspections and identifying appropriate corrective actions to rectify any identified deficiencies.
  • Assist the security officer in conducting IDS and Guard force response testing.
  • Additional functions performed in this role may include: Data Transfer Agent, COMSEC Custodian, and Top Secret Control Officer.

Education and Experience Requirements

Experience (Required)

  • Two years’ experience in a DoD security environment with a minimum of one Year Special Access Program (SAP) Experience (Military, Government Civilian, or DoD contractor - experience must be within the past five (5) years)
    • Completion of the following DSS Academy formal training courses can be used as a replacement for 1 year of experience.
      • Introduction to Industrial Security Course, IS011.16
      • Introduction to Information Security Course, IF011.16
      • Introduction to Physical Security Course, PY011.16
      • Introduction to Personnel Security Course, PS113.16
      • Introduction to DoD Personnel Security Adjudication Course, PS001.18
      • Special Access Program (SAP) Overview Course, SA001.16

Security Clearance (Required)

  • Top Secret Clearance with favorable SSBI completed within past five years.

Additional Qualifications (Required)

  • Working knowledge of Security manuals, directives, and Executive Orders (NISPOM, JAFAN Series, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of JPAS, JADS, and EPAR
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to move or lift 25 pounds without difficulty.
  • Must be able to safely operate destruction equipment and work in close proximity to magnetic degaussing equipment.
  • Detail oriented and well organized with ability to self-motivate, multi-task, and handle competing priorities and interruptions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Additional Qualifications (Desired)

  • Working knowledge of facility accreditation process and procedures
  • Experience with security management programs such as iSMS or SIMS.
  • Working knowledge of document control procedures
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), or must attain within 12 months
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC), or must attain within 24 months

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.(Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience performing industrial, physical, and personnel security discipline (Desired)

Security Clearance

  • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an Top Secret Clearance with favorable SSBI completed within past five years.
