Overview

Delex Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ZENETEX, is seeking an ISSM to manage all Automated Information System (AIS) security functions for a program office based in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The ISSM will supervise the management and installation of information systems and support the assessment and authorization of these systems in accordance with the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for the development, implementation and evaluation of an (AIS) security program policy within a (SAP) environment to follow JSIG and NIST SP 800-37 RMF policies
  • Serves as a principal advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an IS under her/his purview
  • Advise customer on IT assessment and authorization issues
  • Review risk assessments and make recommendations to customers
  • Advise government program managers on security testing methodologies and processes
  • Evaluate certification documentation and provide written recommendations for accreditation to government Program Manager(s)
  • Periodically review system security to accommodate changes to policy or technology
  • Ensure that all Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), network administrators, and other AIS personnel receive the necessary technical and security training to carry out their duties
  • Ensure approved procedures are in place for the sanitization / destruction of system components
  • Maintain a repository for all system certification/accreditation documentation and modifications
  • Coordinate AIS security inspections, tests, and reviews
  • Develop policies and procedures for responding to security incidents, and for investigating and reporting security violations and incidents
  • Ensure proper protection or corrective measures have been taken when an incident or vulnerability has been discovered within a system
  • Ensure development and implementation of an information security education, training, and awareness program, to include attending, monitoring, and presenting local (AIS) security training
  • Ensure that security testing and evaluations are completed and documented
  • Analyze changes in the system, its environment, and operational needs that could affect the accreditation
  • Ensure that certification is accomplished on each (AIS)
  • Review (AIS) test plans
  • Ensure that system recovery processes are monitored to ensure that security features and procedures are properly restored
  • Ensure that system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle
  • Participate in self-inspections; identify security discrepancies and report security incidents
  • Provide expert research and analysis in support of expanding programs

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or Five (5) years equivalent experience 
  • Certifications: Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570. 01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 3 and Information Assurance Manager Level 2

Security Clearance

  •  This position will require U.S. citizenship and a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
