ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have an opportunity for a talented Junior Flight Test Engineer to be responsible for the effectiveness analysis effort of the Department of the Navy Component, Department of the Air Force and International Partner in the JSF Operational Test Team (JOTT). The engineer will be responsible for managing the F-35A/B/C mission systems and operational test requirements; designing test events; developing effectiveness metrics and test plans; including briefing aircrew.  They will identify requirements for data analysis tools, create and maintain data analysis tools; draft aircrew surveys, collect, analyze, document and present effectiveness data and test results for inclusion in operational test reports.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise on the development and interpretation of operational effectiveness parameters for aviation programs undergoing operational test and evaluation
  • Recommend adequacy of test resources, and the validity of the approach to the design and execution of operational test programs
  • Provide advice and guidance on the selection and accreditation process for models and simulations used to evaluate system effectiveness
  • Provide engineering and technical expertise on the design of operational test, written analytical reports, test plans, and other documentation associated with operational test conduct
  • Review mission-based test designs and associated frameworks, proposed measures of effectiveness, applicability to the overall test program, and the adequacy to effectively evaluate system performance
  • Review and provide comments for test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs), test plans, evaluation reports and other documentation associated with operational testing. Evaluate documentation for technical validity, sound principles, and repeatability, testability, and compliance with current policies and guidance from DOD, Navy, and COMPOPTEVFOR
  • Use experience and judgment to resolve complex problems and serves as a source of expert advice on a wide range of technical issues related to tactical employment and mission effectiveness. The incumbent researches current and projected engineering, scientific, and analytical methods that can be used in various phases of operational test including early operational assessments (EOAs), Initial OT&E, and follow-on test and evaluation (FOT&E). They provide technical rigor and comprehensive operational testing methods using available resources
  • Consult with COMOPTEVFOR (including other services and or partners as needed) on the conduct, research, and projected engineering and analytical methods being feasible from both an operational and economic viewpoint.
  • Review all test and evaluation master plans, operational test plans, evaluation reports, and other appropriate documentation for technical validity and sound engineering and analytical principles

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineer working in a DoD Test and Evaluation environment (military, government civilian, DoD contractor)



  • Experience working within an enhanced security environment

Security Clearance

  • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active Top-Secret clearance
