  • Overview

    ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to support NAWCTSD ISEO with the US Navy MH-53 Sea Dragon simulator/training device program located at NAVSTA Norfolk, VA.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform analysis, development, implementation, and testing of software updates and modifications based on Trainer Engineering Change Requests (TECRs)
    • Perform Cybersecurity support; system administration, system backups, scans, security patching, and anitvirus definition updates
    • Perform acquisition, Integrated Project Team (IPT), and configuration management support
    • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment 

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • B.S. in electronics or computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent is required.
    • At least seven (7) years of practical experience in software development associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains is required
    • Experience with software development and diagnostic tools is required
    • Programming languages may include Assembly, C, C++, Microsoft .Net (C#, Visual Basic (VB)), and Java
    • Operating Systems will include Microsoft Windows, as well as various Unix and Linux versions
    • Scripting languages may include (JavaScript, VBScript, Python, Logical Unit Application (LUA), etc), object-oriented programming, eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Active Server Page(s) (ASP), ASP.Net, and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)
    • Must be able to continually keep at the leading edge of changing or emerging developments and techniques within the above fields
    • Formal training in Modeling and Simulation techniques preferred but not necessary
    • Must be knowledgeable of a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DoN/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must be able to determine the applicability of these documents to assignments preferred but not necessary
    • Has basic but broad knowledge of current and future military equipment, systems, and associated tactics (U.S., allied, and threat nations) preferred but not necessary
    • IAT-I certification required within six (6) months from date of hire.

    Security Clearance

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
