    ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have an opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanic (II) to perform organizational-level (O-level) scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in support of our CFT contract at NAS North Island, CA. Electrical/Avionics experience with the C-2 Greyhound (C-2) or the E-2 Hawkeye (E-2) aircraft preferred.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty
    • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
    • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts
    • Requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair - must have basic knowledge of electrical theory - must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
    • Must have working knowledge of technical publications
    • The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records
    • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects

     

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma, or equivalent, with successful completion of related military or commercial courses. Courses in basic electronics, mathematics, general science, and mechanics are desirable
    • Minimum of 6 years total experience, with two years recent, in aircraft maintenance support
    • Qualified Electrician Mechanic (AE)
    • Environmental experience is a plus
    • Power Plants Quality Assurance background preferred

     Physical Demands   

    • Work will require a high level of hand dexterity and finger use in both hands, close vision corrected/uncorrected to 20/20, prolonged periods of standing and sitting in combination with stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as ability to lift 50lbs and over with assistance.
    • Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
    • Able to wear respirator and pass a general physical exam

    Work Environment (ADA)  

    • May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.   

    Security Clearance

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain base access. Active DoD Secret security clearance is preferred and may be required in the future.
