    ZENETEX has become a major force in the field of aircraft maintenance. We proudly support all four branches of the military in performing Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level aircraft, ground vehicle, and component maintenance. A new contract award at Offutt AFB, NE has created the need for an Aircraft Mechanic II to support the 595th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS).

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    The Comm/Nav Mechanic will provide Organizational-level maintenance on the E-4B aircraft. Specific responsibilities may include:  

    • Performs a variety of communication and navigational maintenance functions for the E-4B, to include maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft components of field-level difficulty, including but not limited to: aircraft radios; satellite communications; data distribution systems; high and low power radio systems; navigation systems; and fiber-optic distribution systems
    • Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, applying expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation
    • Applying comprehensive technical expertise to solve field-level problems.
    • This will include the use of required maintenance manuals when necessary, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • A minimum of 4 years of aviation experience performing the above duties and responsibilities
    • Comm/Nav requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
    • Must have a combination of experience to service and inspect structural, hydraulic, electrical, power plant and general mechanical maintenance of field-level work required to meet the assigned missions.
    • Comm/Nav specialists must be able to interpret technical documentation such as: blueprints; sketches; drawings; specifications; WCDs; work orders; and PAC in repairing and/or replacing aircraft components
    • Experience on the E-4B aircraft highly desired 

    Physical Demands

    • Work will require a high level of hand dexterity and finger use in both hands, close vision corrected/uncorrected to 20/20, prolonged periods of standing and sitting in combination with stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as ability to lift 25lbs and over with assistance.

    Work Environment (ADA)

    • May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.   

    Security Clearance

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
