We have an opportunity for a Corporate Communications Specialist to support a major government Intelligence agency located in Springfield, VA.  

    Description

    In this strategic role, you will develop and implement internal and external communications and proactively identify and implement communication strategies. Based on your awareness and understanding of NGA mission and operations tempo, you will identify and reach out to potential users and user groups, analyze communication needs, and make appropriate recommendations for message/information development, communication method selection, and timing of messages.

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Researching, writing, editing, and publishing communications products (e.g., print, web, electronic, briefings)
    • Preparing material for publication and other media both internally and externally
    • Developing new communication methods to reach target audiences
    • Supporting NGA senior leaders by writing, talking points, briefings, and other communications products (e.g., emails, articles)

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or Communications and 7-10 years of related experience
    • Demonstrated experience providing strategic communications support, with at least two years experience in communications strategy development 
    • Must have knowledge of issues facing NGA, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Defense, as well as knowledge of NGA, functions, products and technologies
    • Must have at least one year of experience updating web content and using electronic publishing applications such as MS Office, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or Adobe Pro
    • 12 months demonstrated experience APA writing style and editing
    • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are critical for this position
    • Must have the ability to positively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required

    Security Clearance

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance to start
