Position Overview

ZENETEX has become a major force in the field of aircraft maintenance. We proudly support all four branches of the military in performing Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level aircraft, ground vehicle, and component maintenance. We employ over 700 qualified Aircraft Mechanics across the United States and overseas. A new Contractor Field Team (CFT) award has created multiple Aircraft Mechanic II positions to support a modification effort on a fleet of Pratt & Whitney F-100 -100, -220 or -229 Engine Series aircraft. 

Description

In general, the Aircraft Mechanic II will be responsible for the following:

  • Performs Intermediate level (I-level) repair of Pratt & Whitney F-100 -100, -220 or -229 Engine Series and engine modules
    Inspects and maintains engines and their related systems, including but not limited to induction, cooling, fuel, oil compression,
    combustion, turbine, compressor, exhaust and propeller systems; pre-flight air craft; periodic and special inspections.
  • Conduct periodic, Integrated Maintenance Concept (IMC) / Phase inspections, and Hourly Inspections on engines and enginerelated systems
  • Conduct field-test and adjust engine components, including fuel controls, pumps, valves and regulators; and preserve and de-preserved engines, engine accessories and components
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to remedy problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.
  • Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing
    malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components, such as fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
  • May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 4 years of JEIM experience is required
  • Experience with the Pratt & Whitney F-100 -100, -220 or -229 aircraft is preferred
  • Must have a combination of experience in modification of aircraft cockpits and cargo areas, relocation of avionics equipment, installation of antenna systems on aircraft structures, and routing & modification of wiring harness systems.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft-unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

Physical Demands

  • Work will require a high level of hand dexterity and finger use in both hands, close vision corrected/uncorrected to 20/20, prolonged periods of standing and sitting in combination with stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as ability to lift 25lbs and over with assistance. Requests for reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the principal (essential) functions of this job.

Work Environment (ADA)

  • May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
